Buchizya is one of Africa’s most accomplished political analysts and foreign correspondents. He spent 18 years with the British-based Reuters News Agency based in five African countries, while covering many others. Buchizya graduated with honours from the African Literature Centre (ALC), a pan-African School of Journalism based in the Zambian city of Kitwe.

Buchizya joined Reuters in 1986 and is a veteran of emerging markets news reporting and has covered countries in Central, East, West and Southern Africa including the conflicts in Burundi, Sudan, Ethiopia, Somalia, Eritrea, Democratic Republic of the Congo, and the genocide in Rwanda. He also covered assignments in Britain and at the United Nations in New York.

Buchizya has consulted to companies on transactions across sub-Saharan Africa and is a co-founder of London-based Leriba Limited, and of Kenya-based CMR Media Ltd. He has also conducted media training programmes for various international and local companies.

His international assignments have included postings in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, South Africa, Zambia, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Buchizya left Reuters in 2002 to concentrate on consultancy work in media training, corporate communications and communications strategy.
